My New Year's Resolution...

Well another New Year's has come and gone, since I've managed to quit smoking, drinking, and pretty much anything I shouldn't be doing (we'll leave it at that ;)). So I wondered, what should do? My cousin mentioned she had a blog and it seemed a good outlet for her to express herself and update everyone as to her daughter's milestones and her family's life. I think this is and excellent idea so I will try my hardest to keep up with this on a daily basis, that will be one of my resolutions. Another will be to walk the dog on a daily basis. Make the baby sleep in HER bed! Most importantly, be a better friend. I think that's enough to try to work on for now...

Back to New Year's... I cannot believe that it's 2009... I was thinking about it and 10 years ago tonight, I was in Baltimore's Inner Harbor with my friend Heather, her bf at the time, and my ex bf Rob watching the fireworks and freezing our a***s off! Then, for for the millenium, I had moved to Miami, went to gay bars South Beach (I think) with my friend Mark, 2 of his friends, all I remember was puking in a urinal by 10pm and being pulled onto the beach at midnight for fireworks. The next 4 years I was usually working on NYE and after moving back to Baltimore, I again was working but usually in some other locale... I remember one year was in Palm Springs with my co-worker (and friend!) Scott and we were just looking for any bar to toast at midnight as I had to work until 11pm. At 12am we were driving around lost in the middle of the desert... by the time we found the bar it was empty but we had an awesome time anyway. Now, being married with child in AZ, the last "wild" NYE I can remember was when Troy and I were dating and went to Mill Ave, I went out to have a ciggy at 11:45pm, got lost from the crowd, therefore pissed at Troy and ended up leaving right after midnight and fought the whole way home. Fun... Maybe that's why I haven't ever gone out again on NYE? Since then I've either been working and rushed home just before midnight or just watched the party on tv. This year we went to Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo (really fun) got home around 9pm put the baby to bed... Troy said he was exhausted, went to bed, so I watched the Times Square fun on tv, Elf, and now Family Guy... Feeling kinda pitiful sitting here alone on NYE...
So anyway, where does the time go? Why is it that when you are a child, the days last forever, even as a teen, they seemed to as well, then as soon as you graduate high school each year goes a little faster... I'm terrified how fast time will go when I'm 80! Ah, here's to another New Year.... I'm feeling positive on this one ;)

  2. Funny, I was just telling Tommy (again) yesterday, how we all literally froze our asses off sitting on the concrete right on the harbor that year! It was still a blast! We had our first NYE party since the house has been finished last night-it was wonderful. Got to see me ex's and lots of friends and NO fights! Can't wait to see ya whenever you come back around. I was thinking of starting a blog sometime, too...we'll see ;) Miss you xoxo Heather
